Its time to sell the fleet!
From time to time, customers will abandon a car at Happy Jap's and never return. When that happens, I am left with the "mechanics lien" system, as mandated by the State of North Carolina, and wind up with a car that has little value. In other cases, I am presented with a car to buy that shows potential or can be combined with one I already have to make a better one. Good decision or bad, I then begin working to make the car go. Maybe its a result of my life with a shortage of money, or maybe a desire to recycle, I know I can make these cars run and be productive again, inexpensively. After that, I have a car that is inherently reliable, but has imperfections, or "character" as described by some. I don't have problems driving around these issues, as they usually are minimal problems. I have driven all of these cars for some period of time, so I know they are reliable - at the same time, I know they have issues. These issues don't cause large problems, but keep them from being perfect cars. On many cars, the issues are aesthetic, some are inoperative accessories, some are missing parts. If you want, they all can be fixed - by you or by me. If I fix them, the cost of the car reflects the repairs. All vehicles are sold as is, with no warranty. I will continue to fix them and adjust the price as this happens. Each car's page includes a section called "What's wrong with this car?". In that section I have tried to be honest in disclosing the issues I know of - so read this section. I want to avoid any misunderstanding.
Check this site regularly as more vehicles will be added as time allows.
Maybe after selling some cars I can get a nice one like the S2000 shown at top left, since no one abandoned one of those. Email below or call 919467-2884 and ask for Rex, week days.
